Let’s Jam!!

Let’s Jam!!

It was a real BLAST seing Still Flyn playing “Camoflage Detection” in front of me at Zuni, in Ferrara. Since the first notes from the Alesis Micron started (the same synth I use for Tiny Tide) it was clear it could have been no other song but that. Seconds after Sean Rawl got closer to the microphone and went:”This is a cover from another band…”. Then I shouted:“NIGHTLIFE UUUUUSSSAAAAA!!!!”. Sean raised just one brow, just like Mr. Spock, and asked:“Mark?!?!”. Then me:“… talk ya later…”. This band is CRAZY! And they were great! Song was practically the same of the one that you can hear on the U.N.DISCO album (they told me they performed that one on the streets as well during the tour) beside my voice rotten by the emotion on finallybeing on a  live performance where I actually knew a good 30% of the words of the song!

By the way, we have another U.N.DISCO review on SleepWalKing Magazine, now also on Amazon, while you can read an interview to Sean right here.

Other news? You can find another The Brigadier song on his space + be sure to come back to this site next monday: there’s gonna be a 4th KinGem release, coming directly from Bristol :)

Also thanks to E20Romagna and the notorious DJ Luigi Bertaccini for the nice article on KinGem Records and its production right here. Cheers!

Listening to new Stars

Listening to new Stars

Don’t know about you, but that’s sounds good enough to celebrate with an extra dose of caffelatte+cream: ladz, we’re on Spotify! Yo can now check U.N.DISCO directly from this link (unless you live in Italy, and that’s really ironic being it a Neo Italo Disco compilation). We wanna hit 100 LIKES in a day, so spread the voice!

The compilation has been promoted also on the Italian most popular fantasy premier league site, and I’m really flattered it’s now being discussed in its forum. That means what KinGem got absolutely pay tribute to soccer lovers sooner or later in the nearby future.

Ooother unrelevant news: Tiny Tide has got a new EP out for the American label Vulpiano. The EP is a sort of tribute to The Beatles, it’s called “Baltic Avenue” and it can be downloaded for free HERE.

Take care!

So Many Moons Before

So Many Moons Before

Bad internet connections failing, working on videos and further projects, so many things happened these days, and I hadn’t the change to collect’em in a news! Here we go for a ride:

  • First of all, I’m proud to announce the arrival of a new friend in our little pop kingdom. After having acquired the status of living indie-legend with the project Santa Dog, Rowena Dugdale is back with her new band from Bristol Cue Fanfare. Get ready for a début release and helpfully a tour.
  • Not so long time ago the Swedish “Stars In Coma” Andrè Brorsson has released a sweet little EP called Dead and Hope. You can now download the EP here.
  • The Brigadier is so ahead of the times that has got his song for our little festive surprise quite ready (it’s strange seeing fab4 references on a xmas song! I was reeeeally impressed!). Moreover his contribute for “U.N.DISCO” is up in the soundclouds. You can check it here.
  • “U.N.DISCO” had a REALLY IMPRESSIVE review on “Good Times Bad Times”. Translation in English coming soon… Team… we got an 8 on 10! Moreover the album is now available on e-music (seems like that buyers also liked Aurevoire Simone and Isobel Campbell)
  • Voice of a new Stars in Coma album is spreading fast. See Indipedia, Indie for Bunnies and Area 51 del Corazon.
  • Tiny Tide has released “Diskovery”, a free cover songs album thought like a baby brother for their new release “Moontalking”. You can download it for free here.

That’s all by now folks. Be cool!

Picture the Weekend

Still waiting for Sunday to come, I have to say the weekend has bee totally pleasurable and cool. Especially coming down to some exciting news and my label friends activities all over Europe. In fact today I was plotting together a friend from Bristol to work on our first UK based KinGem release and bring the guys on a little tour in November. Finger crossed on the project! Meanwhile I can’t wait to hear some news from Charley Rivel, DJSetting on a pub in Stockholm, and Stars in Coma, having had a special gig in Belrin for the Indie Pop Days.

Other exciting news is that Stars in Coma last album for KinGem is now being broadcasted for a local Italian station called Radio Sonora, while you can check another review of “And The Cloud Withdrew From The Sky” here.

And while we’re busy working collecting real actors and directors for our next video for the “U.N.DISCO” album, we couldn’t wait but work on a little sci-fi nostalgic video collage for the song “Astro Fille” by Le Petit Chenilles from the same album.

So… What about YOUR weekend?

Hope to here news from you and get your weekend pic as well! (more…)
